Inverted flight

I am looking for any information that would enable a VW powered Nipper to fly upside down. I understand an injection system was made at one point but is no longer available.
Very many thanks Richard

Hi Richard,
I have a fully inverted Nipper, which will fly inverted for as long as I can! .....all systems are invertable, I am running an Ellison Throttle Body Injector (TBI) which is no longer available, have a look at the post:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=129 which will cover most of what you are interested in re' carb's etc. You are quite right, the Acro injection system is now unavailable unless you can find one already fitted to an engine somewhere, look just next to the pile of rocking horse droppings!!
As far as the oil system goes the engine will need modifying internally to provide an external feed to the oil pump, and then use a Christen inverted oil changeover valve with a feed off of the rocker covers and the sump. I can provide photos for you, and modify engine cases if you need to.

Hi Richard,
The Acro system, which I believe is a Lucas System for which Barry Smith designed/developed/manufactured a pump and fuel pressure regulator is quite complex and not easily copied........it all depends on your tenacity and engineering skills. It is a very nice system which is very light, doesn't need a carb' heat source, my only comment is that it has one mechanically driven fuel pump with no back up.
I am up in Glasgow this Friday, where are you based?
Neil

Hi Richard,
That is rather bizarre! I am based just north of Colchester near Ardleigh! It would be much easier for you to see the inverted systems and talk them through here so you can see what I am talking about. I am very seldom in Glasgow, but as the base there appears to be closing there may be more trips.
If your Nipper will be based in Scotland you may be interested in an extra 15L of fuel in an aux' tank?
