Nipper wooden models.

Dear All,
In my quest to find all things Nipper, I often check out whats on Ebay. I have got about a dozen of the little Corgi Nippers from the seventies, which are great. But I was keen to get one in my livery. I replied to one of the ebay ads from an Asian model maker as the price seemed a lot cheaper than I have previously seen. They can make a model with an 11 inch wingspan and mounted on a plinth in the colours of your choice for around $130. Not bad value I thought.
I sent them some pics of NIPR and they replied last night (after about 4 weeks of lead time) with these pics.
I am pretty pleased with it. I have asked them just to adjust the cowling slightly to show 4 exhaust pipes not the 2 they have made, but other than that feel it is a good job. You can find them often on ebay, or I can send you contact details if you want one of yours.

Paul.

Hello Richard,
The guy I have been dealing with is called Regie, email address is rrm@myasianart.com
They have an ebay shop by the name of MyAsianArt, and do a range of models.
Mine has been dispatched now and I should be getting it shortly, will let you know how it looks in the 'flesh'.

Cheers,

Paul.

Well the model arrived yesterday, so it only actually took about five days from date of sending.
It really is a nice model, the finish is flawless and high gloss. The model is of a good size for a desktop model, and they have even put a little tailskid at the back too!
I am so impressed I have ordered another one in my old colours as G-AVXC, a little more challenging for their artist with the 'highwayman' on the tail! They have given me a 5% discount for a repeated order, so they seem pretty fair too. There is no charge for postage either.
Hope you order and get a good model as a result..

Hello All,
Well I have been so impressed, as have others with the model, that I challenged the company to make me another in my old
'G-AVXC' scheme. This is a little more complicated, particularly the highwayman art on the tail. But guess what... they did it.
I attach the pics that were sent to me yesterday to approve. I have asked that they trim the exhaust stacks to half the size but other than that it seems great. They even got the carburettor bubble this time , and also put an aerial on!
Hope you like them.

That looks quite nice, the man on the tail looks excellent!!
The only thing IMHO is that the canopy is a bit too big..

Hi Paul,

I'm also looking to have one of these made up for FE, I note however there seem to be 2 companies offering these on ebay? The first is indeed MyAsianArt who you used however the second company is actually showing pictures for the G-NIPR model?!?!?!
Do you know if theyy are the same company or if you've tried them both?
Also, what size did you order as there is a small and a large size on offer?

Regards

Des

Hello Des,
The models I have are around 11 inch wingspan, really nice size and superb finish.
I think either they are the same company or use the same artists.
The 'companies' such that they are seem to be individual local 'business men', who put commissions to the artists.
Hence they use the same pictures. They tend to use a library photo of a real machine until they make the first model, and then
start using the model on their listings.
Either of them would result in an excellent display model. Make sure you send them good pictures from all directions
of your machine to get a good repro of it.
They might charge a littl extra to do a custom design, dont know why because they are making from scratch anyway!
Let us know how you get on.

All the best,

Paul.
