I understand Leburg is up and running again. I have tried to enter the website www.leburg.com but just get loads of "mush". Anyone know a solution?
Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben,
Spoke with Henry last week, he is now aware the website has been corrupted. He is in the middle of moving house at the moment, so is rather pre-occupied!! I need some parts from him so will speak with him again soon, what do you need?

Re: Leburg
One of my Leburg ignition systems has stopped working, i.e. no spark on any of the 4 plugs.
When I first had a problem I was getting spark on 2 plugs, then system deteriorated now no sparks at all.
I have checked the plugs and leads, replaced the coil, checked the output as it came from ignition switch going to the EI10AINT controller....but couldn't verify 12V was getting to controller as can't get at the other end of the wire without removing engine. Checked the wire out from controller to coil is plugged in properly at both ends.
Is there anyone out there who can advise?
Thanks in advance.
Malcolm

Re: Leburg
Hi Malcolm,
The fact that the failure has been progressive would suggest that the fault is not down to a supply/earth problem.
Can you remove the Leburg Module easily? If so I recommend you remove it, remove the cover and check that the i/c (integrated circuit) has not come out of its holder, or that the nuts that hold the circuit board down have not come loose and are shorting out the board......ask me how I know!
The cover is removed by removing the four screws from the back of the unit, and sliding the cover toward the connector end and off of the base.
I believe Skycraft will overhaul/repair a defective unit.

Re: Leburg
Thanks a lot Neil. Can't easily get to the controller unit. Need to take the engine out. But I think this is what we will have to do. Will do the checks you suggest. Good to know that I might be able to get a repair if needed. I'll ring Skycraft to check. Regards, Malcolm

Re: Leburg
Rather a poor installation if you need to remove the engine for access. Presumably they have fitted the Leburg units in the box that used to house the magnetos? If so you may be able to remove the fuel tank to access the end of the box which may be removable....or access from the side via the panels that may have been fitted behind the firewall....depending on the original/restoration build. I don't know this a/c so can't comment without further info'. There are some terrible installations out there where the firewall has so many holes in it that it does not fulfill its purpose of being a firewall !
If you take some photos of the firewall from the cockpit you may be able to make a better assessment.
Where are you based?

Re: Leburg
Neil, aircraft is based at Beeches farm just off A46 between Newark and Lincoln.
I will try to get some photos and post them.
It's looking to me like I will need to remove the fuel tank.
Do you, or anyone else, know how easy that is likely to be? (We have a load of copper(?) piping connected to tank). What problems have others encountered with removing fuel tank?

Re: Leburg
MGR - Hi. To remove the firewall requires the engine to be removed first. Photo is of the firewall for a Mk 2 Nipper - modified by a previous owner to accommodate a dual Bendix series 2000 magneto.
