Exhaust arrangement

Hi Nipper fans,
I'm preparing a new set of exhaust pipes to replace mine which have probably only got this season left due to corrosion. My old set have the pipes as short open stacks pointing down out of the cowling and this is as shown on the Nipper Kits and Components GA drawing. However it looks as if the cowls are designed much more around aft facing exits, rather like the RF4, and I've seen Nippers - in fact including an archive photo of mine - with aft pipes. I prefer this arrangement as it makes hot air and muffling schemes much easier but I'd appreciate any opinions from the forum.
