Carb needed

I have a Tillotson HR71A carb on my Nipper (1835cc VW engine) , but am having a lot of problems (problems starting, misfires, rough running etc), which my mechanic believes are due to the carb. Thus I am looking for a replacement.
Anyone got something suitable that I could buy or even better borrow then buy if it fixes the problem.

PS The Tillotson works inverted but I am just looking for any carb that is know to work OK on that engine. The PPS Tillotson is also quite small so I may need to modify the top cowl to get a different carb to fit.

Hi Malcolm

I am about to install a RevMaster carb - my Zenith KLP 150 is working perfectly, and if i can get the RevMaster to work in the next fortnight i can send you the Zenith.
but i still have some engineering issues to resolve and don't want to jump ship without a life boat. If you don't mind waiting (I will try to expedite).

It may take another two to three weeks before i can do the switch with the KLP.
I have a serviced Zenith Stromberg CD175 (pictured) which i can send immediately. I suspect this carburettor will entail a redesign of your cowling.

Let me know if i should send it.

I have found someone who can test and possibly service my Tillotson. It's on way to him currently. So let's wait a few days to see whether he can fix it.
If he can't then I will definitely need yours.
