NIPPER GATHERING

Postby Neil Spooner » Sat Jul 12, 2008 12:21 pm

Hi All,

Seeing as there seem to be a good stock of Nippers now, how about a gathering somewhere? Either combined with another LAA fly-in, or just a Nipper gathering?

Somewhere about an hour thirty from the edge of Nipper home field, maybe Northampton Sywell or somesuch?

All bids welcome, date and venue. Either via this forum or call me on 07971966286/01206230090.

Neil ,

Great idea, count me Very Happy in, subject to getting the permit. Mid to late Aug would
be perfect for me.

I'll come along- permit should be done. Late August would work for me. We had a 3 ship formation some years ago with Raymond Cypers-great fun!

Hi Guys,

There is an airshow at Northampton Sywell on the 24th Aug'.

http://www.sywellaerodrome.co.uk/events.php

I have dropped an email to the organisers to see if we could make it a fly-in venue on the 24th (I am unfortunately working on the 23rd)

Any takers?

Latest on Nipper gathering:

I received this email today re' the Northampton fly-in/airshow:

Hello Neil,

You are more than welcome, sounds like an excellent idea. I am all for promoting aircraft gatherings at the airfield. There is a boooking in form on the Sywell website http://www.sywellaerodrome.co.uk/events.php
Unfortunately I am afraid tickets into the airshow will have to be purchased but it is all for charity and at £12 for an advance ticket relatively cheap by todays airshow standards. Landing fees will be reduced to £5 on the day.

Rgds,

Jeff Bell
AFISU Manager
Northampton/Sywell Aerodrome.

I will go for the show, but if you want another date/venue please speak up! I haven't asked but I would imagine if enough of us go we may get our own "corner"

Hi All,

I couldn't find on the Sywell site the times of the performance, so emailed Jeff. His response to that and a "Nipper Corner":

Hi Neil,

Display starts at 1400 hence the last arrival slot of 1300, that will allow for a few stragglers ! We have an Airshow meeting next Tues so I will mention your possible gathering, I'm sure we can arrange a patch for you all to park together.

Rgds,

Jeff Bell
AFISU Manager
Northampton/Sywell Aerodrome.

I have not booked a slot, so if a few of us want to arrive together I will leave the time open until I hear more. We could meet at a friendly local farm strip and arrive en-mass!!

Hello All,
I am going to check my August roster and see what I can do. Bit of a journey from up here, but subject to weather will be worth it.
Will get back to you.........

Hi All,

I have today sent out 30 invitations by post (that was fun!) to all Uk Nipper owners registered on G-INFO, so if you receive an invite and you already know, sorry, but it was easier to do that than sift through all the "handles" that various people use on the forum to work out who is subscribing to the forum. (Paul, could you include that in the member details on the forum, it could help for a mail shot in the future)

I will keep you posted of anyone that contacts me directly, but have promulgated the forum to all recipients.

Look forward to seeing you there!!

I've checked my roster, and if everything goes well I might be there.. Very much weather dependant though.
I would look to fly down on the saturday and nightstop somewhere near or at Sywell.
Then would have to leave on Sunday afternoon, or at the latest on Monday to fly to Oban where I will be working that week.
It will require a fair bit of planning to get all my required kit in the Nipper!
Realistic probability that I attend is around 40% but I hope to get that up to just weather permitting after looking at the planning....
All the best,

Paul.

Paul,

I know that it is not that close to Sywell, but there is a bed for the night at
my place (and a decent meal as well) if you want.
I am currently at a private strip, near Winchester, with hagarage.
Let me know if this is useful and I can arrange logistic support

Wife took another look at the new "Nipper" and got all maternal on me.
You have to stop this sort of thing ............. Confused

Kind regards,

Pat ASXI
