Help---again--- canopy lock
Help---again--- canopy lock
In assembling this I realized I was missing one element. This is the older type lock--not the one in Nipper kits drawing. I have the "shelf bracket", the slotted & contersunk upper plate,& the bolt with cross piece. What seems to be missing is the item that the bolt travels in & any related springs. I can fabricate but would appreciate any photos and dimensions. Dont want all the development work, would just like to arrive at the finished item. Thanks Jantar

Hi Tom,
I have mustered all the bits I have and whilst I don't have the drawing for the early type latch I'm pretty sure it assembles like this (photo)

Re: Help---again--- canopy lock
Nice photos thanks David. Tom, what you may not be able to see from those photos is that the spring not only pushes the bolt home but also rotates it into its "dog leg" retention slot. Sorry, I was going to take some photos of mine but David beat me to it with those lovely ones. Mine is the same, and I had to make a new spring for it. It may be worth trying NK&C for a spring, it was a sod to get right.

Thanks Neil I found the missing bits including the spring once I knew what things look like. Spring needed doctoring to produce a new short leg--- yes it is a sod!! but now fitted and working. Tom H
